Top O’ the Mornin’ to you! Something you should know about me is that St.Patrick’s Day is my favorite holiday. I have only the tiniest bit of Irish in me, but that’s enough for me to go green with envy over anything St. Patrick’s Day related. From leprechauns to shamrocks, rainbows to good luck, I love the whimsy of it all. No, my children don’t believe that leprechauns are real (although they did have the best time constructing “leprechaun traps” out of our recycle bin materials for several years), but they do enjoy making sparkly, fun, GREEN decorations for the house and for our St. Patrick’s Day tree!
This beautiful and glittery shamrock accordion craft is the perfect accent to any
St. Paddy’s decor or celebration. Yes, there’s glitter…the messy kind…but it’s worth it! If you are worried about the mess, I would suggest cutting up a paper grocery bag until it is flat, and laying it out on either the floor or a table (hard floor is preferred for easier cleanup). Do the project on the paper bag, and that way when glue and glitter are spilled, they’re not unmanageable. This project is great for ages 4-8, although older kids might really like to help out to revisit “the glitter years.”
